CFUW Awards & Bursaries
Supporting educational opportunities for women in our community.
The CFUW Aurora/Newmarket Charitable Trust funds and administers a range of awards and bursaries, as well as select awards funded by community partners—all helping women pursue their educational goals.
Secondary School Awards
Several $3500 awards for female graduating students from YRDSB or YCDSB or le Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud secondary schools in northern York Region.
Indigenous Award
One $3500 award to an Indigenous student from Sutton District High School.
Mary Pegg Educational Award
This award grants $3000 per year for up to 4 years (maximum of $12,000) to a female student graduating from Huron Heights SS or Newmarket HS. This award was established by the family of Mary Pegg, in memory of their mother. Mary was a long standing member of CFUW Aurora/Newmarket.
Rose of Sharon Award
One $3500 award to a young mother who is supporting a child and is a current Rose of Sharon participant or an alumna who has participated in programs/services in the last five years.

Barbara Langstaff Memorial Bursary
CFUW Aurora/Newmarket Bursary in Memory of , founding member, Barbara Langstaff. A bursary of varying value for a mature female York Region resident who has returned to pursue a degree at York University and demonstrates financial need.

Seneca Bursary
One $3500 bursary to a mature female student enrolled in a diploma program at the King Campus and in financial need. Applicants must be in their second year, involved in the school community, have Canadian citizenship and be residents of York Region.
