Our Community Partners play an important role in helping CFUW Aurora/Newmarket extend its impact in our community. Through creative fundraising initiatives, shared events and collaborative efforts, local businesses and organizations help us raise funds in support of educational awards for young women in our community.

Bingo, Brews & Brighter Futures
We won the jackpot when Bill Gianopoulos and the team at Market Brewing Company choose CFUW's scholarship program as a featured charity during their lively Thursday Bingo nights in May. Bill’s heart-centered business model shines through each month as different local organizations are highlighted, connecting players directly to the impact of their support.
Over the past four years, Market Brewing has contributed nearly $20,000 to our scholarship fund. Every May, CFUW members, families, and Bingo die-hards of all ages pack the brewery to support local students. Together we have empowered young women in our community to reach their academic dreams as they pursue post-secondary education. We are deeply grateful for Bill’s ongoing partnership and dedication!

Deb Clark, founder and owner of Oakridge’s Fashions, has built a beloved local boutique around helping women feel confident and empowered, a philosophy that extends far beyond style to deep community investment.
Through her annual "The Giving Shop" seasonal initiative, Deb curates thoughtful holiday stocking stuffers, accessories, and gifts where proceeds directly support local causes. Thanks to the unwavering support of our members and shoppers across York Region who reserve their holiday shopping for this campaign, The Giving Shop has generously contributed over $7,000 to our Scholarship Fund.

History Hound (Richard MacLeod)
Exploring the Past, Supporting the Future
Local historian Richard MacLeod, affectionately known as the "History Hound," has been an ally in our mission to support local education. For the past three years, Richard has generously led our members on captivating historical walking tours across Newmarket—exploring iconic sites such as Pickering College, the Newmarket Cemetery, the Postmark Hotel, and Newmarket Town Hall.
Beyond bringing our town's rich heritage to life through his storytelling, Richard has dedicated 100% of the proceeds from these walks to our Scholarship Fund. His ongoing generosity directly empowers local students as they pursue post-secondary education, demonstrating a deep commitment to preserving our past while investing in the future of our community's youth.

NewRoads Automotive Group
Charcuterie & Chardonnay
NewRoads Automotive Group has an active outreach program that supports over 100 local charities, non-profits, and community groups. Through ongoing community grants and partnerships focused on local health, youth, and wellness, NewRoads Mazda hosted its first charity event in support of young women and their education.
The sold-out "Chardonnay & Charcuterie" evening featured a hands-on charcuterie board workshop with chef Anne-Marie Million, complementary wine pairings from Trayvino Wines, and local blooms from Flossy’s Flower Truck. Seventy guests of all ages gathered at the dealership to support higher education, raising $5,000 for CFUW Aurora/Newmarket educational awards.

Ground Burger Bar
Great Burgers, Greater Impact
Ground Burger Bar in Newmarket continues to directly support local education through its annual Grad Burger campaign. Special thanks to co-owner Samantha Buckley and manager Madeleine Prentice for being two of our most enthusiastic supporters.Each year for one month, the restaurant donates $5 from every specialty burger sold to our Scholarship Fund, giving guests a direct way to invest in local students.
This specialty item created just for CFUW has made Ground Burger Bar a favorite lunch destination for our interest groups every fall. Over the past two years, this tasty partnership has raised $2,800 to provide essential financial support for young women pursuing post-secondary education.

Ghost Taco
The Vampire Taco
Ghost Taco on Main Street in Newmarket is actively supporting local education through its community partnerships. Co-owners Samantha and Grant Buckley teamed up with CFUW Aurora/Newmarket to launch a spring fundraising initiative featuring their specialty Vampire Taco.
First created in 2021 as a local pop-up, Ghost Taco has grown into a thriving business dedicated to giving back. Each year during the two-week promotion, the restaurant donates proceeds from every Vampire Taco sold directly to the club's Charitable Trust. Thanks to community patrons and team support, so far the campaign raised $1015 to fund scholarships for local young women pursuing post-secondary education..

Brew It Coffee Bar
Brewing Up Support for Local Students
Brew It Coffee Bar in Newmarket supports local students through creative fundraising campaigns. Owner and operator Carol Mocanu believes in women helping women and actively partners with CFUW Aurora/Newmarket to raise funds for the Charitable Trust scholarship program.
A favorite rest stop for our club's walking and hiking groups, the pink artisan coffee shop has hosted multiple promotions, donating proceeds from strawberry lattes, Mother's Day treats, and seasonal lemonade raising $300. Most recently, Brew It served as the official coffee sponsor at a Home & Garden Tour rest stop, providing complimentary coffee to attendees. These ongoing efforts help provide essential financial support for young women pursuing post-secondary education.
